How we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit truhealthchiro.net, book online, or message our office.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how TRU Health Family Chiropractic (“TRU Health,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located at 5509 Belmont Rd, Ste E, Downers Grove, IL 60515, handles information collected through our website at truhealthchiro.net (the “Site”), our online booking tools, our website chat, and our text messaging and email communications (together, the “Services”).

2. Your health information (HIPAA)
As a healthcare provider, TRU Health is subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”). If this Privacy Policy and our Notice of Privacy Practices ever conflict regarding protected health information, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.
Please don’t send detailed medical information through website chat, text message, or email. These channels are convenient for scheduling and general questions but are not designed for sensitive health details. Please share health concerns with us by phone or in person.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or text messaging opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the aggregators and providers that deliver our text message services.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers. We use trusted vendors to run the Services, including our online scheduling, chat, and messaging platform, website hosting, and review and mapping tools (such as Google Maps). These vendors may process information on our behalf only to provide their services to us. Where a vendor handles protected health information, we require the agreements HIPAA calls for.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of TRU Health, our patients, or others.
- Business transfers. If our practice is involved in a merger, sale, or transfer of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
- With your permission. We may share information for other purposes with your consent.

A parent or legal guardian should book appointments and provide information on behalf of a minor. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information online, please contact us and we will delete it.
